Realism-
This movement was the faithful representation of reality. Realism took a a more effective approach to descripe life how it is and not to preach about morality. They felt life was valuable and health depended on overcoming selfish behavior or human passions. They also imagined and managed threats of social change. Realism is very similar to transcendentalism but it dramatizes a lot of things. Authors that wrote in the era were Henry James who wrote "Daisy Miller: A Study" and Mark Twain who wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
